Hi there –
When PowerPoint (2010) starts, is it possible for it to automatically load a template instead of a new document?
Thanks a ton!

Hello again –
FYI, I just came across the following article. While it pertains to PowerPoint 2013, I’m assuming that it still should for 2010.
Create a custom shortcut pointing to “C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice14POWERPNT.exe” /N “Path to templatestemplatename.potx” (check the path to PowerPoint 2010 on your PC and replace PATH and the template name.
For example, on my Windows 7 32-bit PC using UK English (code 1033), my custom shortcut to always load the QuizShow template would point to:
“C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice14POWERPNT.EXE” /N “C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeTemplates1033QuizShow.potx”
A full explanation of PowerPoint’s startup switches can be found here. (They’re for PowerPoint 2007 but work equally well for PowerPoint 2010.)
Hope this helps…
There is another way to load a template when PowerPoint launches.
If you have a PP template that you want to load every time you launch PP, you can make it a PP global template. Make sure that when you save the template that you save it with a .potx extension.
Then copy the template to this location in your user profile C:Usersyour user nameAppDataRoamingMicrosoftTEMPLATES.
Once you’ve copied the template to this location, PowerPoint will automatically open with that template loaded.
