By default, Windows 10 has a ‘hidden’ setting that allows peer-to-peer ‘uploading’ of Windows Updates to other devices, either on the same network or including the internet as well.

By ‘hidden’ I mean that there’s no mention of this P2P service during upgrade/setup and the setting is buried within Windows Update.

To turn it off, do this:

      [*]Click on Start.
      [*]Click on Settings.
      [*]Click on Update & security.
      [*]Click on Windows Update.
      [*]Click on Advanced options.
[*]Click on Choose how updates are delivered.
[*]Slide the toggle switch from On to Off.
      [*]Close Settings.

Note: You can also do this via a REG file.

    Hope this helps…

It controls “Downloading” too though. (This was in the newsletter a year ago, and has since been discussed here a bunch of times.)

I’m one of those who chose not to re-subscribe recently following the price hike. I can no longer get to any newsletters, not even the ones I paid for during the many years I was a subscriber. 🙁
