As Woody suggested, I’m testing my Proper Membership with a comment here.  Thank you thank you thank you Woody for your exemplary efforts to keep this resource going.

I am able to log in successfully, and have been able to do so all along.

Certainly I add my hardy thanks to Woody and the crew for their efforts. I think that the results are well worth the effort!!!!! My only problem is that the e-mailed newsletter remains “missing in action.” Perhaps someday it will all get sorted out.

Now if I could just get your newsletter subscription to work….

Not so much trouble logging in – but in spite of my real name appearing at top of my profile, log-in ONLY works with the email address.
So this is the advised “test post”; wonder what will be shown as user name.
Thanks, Woody, for your support over decades (I started with reading the ubdergriund guides …) BRgds Christian

So just to follow up on pending post #333584 (5:42 pm):
The “real name” is shown in the forum, but log-in requires the email address and does not accept the user name

Unfortunately Christian, you haven’t followed the instructions about creating an account without your email address, which was automatically created when you subscription from WSL was imported, as mentioned in this week’s newsletter. We shouldn’t have permitted you to post using this account, which we can fix up when you create yourself a new account.

Just because you can log on to the site here doesn’t mean you have a “proper” AskWoody account. If your account name is also your email address, I strongly recommend that you change it. Shoot me mail at Customer Support.

The UserName and General Rules (the Lounge Rules) page has information about account names.

So create yourself a genuine AskWoody account (click the link when you’re logged out!), email customersupport@askwoody.com advising your new account name, then we can get your subscription transferred, and when this generated account is trashed, we can transfer your content to the new account too.

You’ll be far better off if you set up a “proper” AskWoody account.

In your case, it’s very, very easy. Just drop me a line at CustomerSupport@AskWoody.com.

After some faffing about I can log in, and I’m receiving a single copy of the newsletter at the desired address, and evidently I can post. Now all that’s missing is some way to tell when my subscription ends.

You can check on your subscription by accessing https://www.askwoody.com/my-account/, then by clicking “My Subscription” in the options offered. 🙂

Thanks, Kirsty. That’s what I was looking for. Is there a link to that page somewhere on the site? I didn’t see one.

    • #333914

Well, apparently everything is fine with me. Thanks Woody for the gigantic work. Your site is totally awesome!

No issues for me as well.

My many thanks to Woody and all of the people that help make this work. I am also very grateful for you taking over Windows Secrets and the massive undertaking in do so.
