Just had a request to import an excel spreadsheet into Access. The first column of the spreadsheet in a hyperlink that points to PDF files on a network. Is there a way to have the Hyperlink import directly into the Access table such that it doesn’t have to be re-input? If so, does the hyperlink import as text?

      Gary,

You don’t have to re-input, but after you import the excel document, you have to change the field type to hyperlink in the Access table.

Import the Excel worksheet into a new Access table. The hyperlinks will be imported as plain text.
Open the imported table in design view and change the text field to a hyperlink field, then save the table. The hyperlinks should work.

      Thanks Hans.

Does the same apply to importing hyperlinks from a table in a Word Doc?
