    hello hobkirk

OK you can not store a graphic file into a cell. You can place the graphic on the worksheet, but that is different.

I suggest you use MS-Access 2000 with its memo or OLE Object field to store these items. Make a nice Userform Interface to please your “very non-PC-technical” user and ease maintenance .

      Thank you!

It really did seem that I should be able to figure it out or find out via help & books if it was possible. But it really seemed that it “should” be possible.

Oh well… I’m off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of Access…

When I insert a graphic into a cell in Excel, it appears to be using the cell as an anchor and the picture covers cells to the right and below. When I do the same in other applications (Word, WYSIWYG web programs, etc.) they expand the table cell to accomodate a graphic when I move it in.

I am trying to create a simple DB for a web site. Each “record” representing one item for sale will have a fixed number of text and JPEG’s in the cells of one row. In an ideal world I would have the option of having the JPEG’s be visible or not – several of them are 640 wide so my 21″ screen gets too small very quickly!

I have Fox Pro Visual and Access 2000 although I am essentially a virgin to both. I am willing to learn either. But I think Excel might be better in this case because this DB will be maintained by someone who is very non-PC-technical but feels comfortable with Excel. The DB will have one to three records replaced and maybe a couple of “fields” updated each week – in other words, it’s not a high-maintenance isue.

PS – I LOVE this forum because the quality of responders.
