I have been able to have two way sync between Outlook 2010 and my iPhone Calendar.  Recently the syncing has become just one way.  Phone to Outlook, yes.  Outlook to Phone, no.

    Any ideas?

Did you just upgradeto 12.4? Did it change your Calendar or iDrive permissions?

I syncronise my contact and calendar data between Outlook 2010 and my iPhone, and, in my wife’s case, her data with her iPhone and her iPad.

Periodically, this goes squirrellly, and I have to re-establish the connection.  I think that this describes the steps that I have to follow (sorry, but I’m not going to go through it just for you!):

      1. Close Outlook.
      2. Log-in to iCloud via the Start Menu, and sign out.
      3. Find the location of the iCloud data file on the local machine, in my case C:\users\username\appdata\local\[long string of random numbers and letters].aplzod
      4. Rename this location, to, say, aplzog, just so that you can recover it if this all goes wrong.
      5. Sign-in again to iCloud.
      6. Re-establish the synconisation via iCloud, DON’T do the obvious and syncronise “all contacts and calendars”.  I know, it sounds the obvious thing, but it doesn’t work, and you’ll know when you have it right.  This should make a new aplzod folder in the same location.
      7. Re-start Outlook.
      8. If the data have all been imported correctly, you can delete the old aplzod folder, the folder that you renamed.

I think that this is the procedure to be followed.  I shared this on WSL some years ago, and hope it helps for you and others.

Thank you.  I gave your suggestion a go, but I’m not sure I got it right.

I looked for the data file mentioned by searching for *.aplzod

I could not find that file, I did find multiple copies of APLZODLocalized.dll

They were all located here C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Internet Services\APLZOD.resources\tr.lproj

      WSWSG – thanks for posting.

I can see the folder that you describe, but I don’t think that is what you are looking for.  I had a look on my system, and nothing has been changed in the past few days, which is what you would look for in a data file.

Did you find nothing at the location that I described?  On MY system (Outlook 2010, Win 10 Pro, iCloud 7.13), I can find where iCloud has placed its local data by clicking on File > Account Settings > E-mail Accounts > Data Files.  The iCloud entry shows the location of the local data is the *.aplzod folder. Here, there are the tracks of recent changes in data, date- and time-stamped from today.

If you are using a different version of Outlook, the location may be different, but I would start by looking in the Account Settings.

Hope this is of some help.

I am running Outlook 2010.  Following those steps about Opening Outlook and the File Tab and next setting I’ve discovered when I logged out of iCloud the stuff in settings associated with iCloud went away.

I’m going to sign into iCloud again to see what happens.

If you are interested in discovering what iCloud does when you install it into Outlook, before you log in again go to Outlook>Contacts and take a look at the structure in the folder list on the left. And check which folder your contacts are. Then do the same after installing iCloud.

Did all suggestion, stuff entered in Outlook shows up on iPhone.  Stuff on iPhone doesn’t make it to Outlook.

After latest Win10 Update this morning the synchronize icon is not on the Outlook toolbar.

I had a friend who repeatedly had the icon in Outlook disappear. I always fixed it by uninstalling/re installing iCloud. And that process is straight forward, but sometimes quirky. And I agree with ScotchJohn   during the re-install   don’t synchronize “all contacts and calendars”. That seems to mess it up.

As part of the install iCloud would move all her contacts into an iCloud folder that it created, viewable in the Contacts folder list, when viewing the Outlook contacts. When you uninstall it moves them back. But it always seems to do it successfully. Don’t know if newer versions still do that.

I had to take a break from this.  Back again.  Started over this morning following the steps recommended my ScotchJohn above.  Now Outlook locks up and when I close it I get the message, “OUTLOOK experienced a serious problem with ‘iclud outlook add-in. . . ”

If I disable the add-in Outlook works.

I think I am in over my head.

Are you still over your head, WSWSG?

Without seeing your setup, I’m not sure that I can help much further.  With a different Outlook add-in, I have the same error message that you quote.  I deny the prompt to disable the offending add-in, and the error message doesn’t reappear, at least not immediately.  I’d help you further if I were able to.

      Good luck

      Have you uninstalled/reinstalled iCloud?

That usually fixes it for my friend when it fails, although last week it failed to fix her problem, and it is not syncing right now for her.

I am going to take a look for her when I get a chance.

It is a very problematic plug in.

First to ScotchJohn yup still beating my head against the wall.  See below
Second to Vincenzo Have you uninstalled/reinstalled iCloud? More times than I like.  I managed to lose all my contacts in one of those episodes.

Long version:  I contacted Apple.  We went through several iterations of uninstall this re-install that.  They tried I was talking to the tech rep who would have to go back to their engineering staff and wait three or four days for them to call me back.

Never fixed it, but we did get to the point where we found my iPhone would talk to the calendar on https://www.icloud.com/ and icloud would talk my phone the problem was getting Outlook to communicate with icloud.com

Based on that I was able to turn up this
      https://www.msoutlook.info/question/icloud-contacts-and-calendar-missing-or-not-synching

I haven’t gotten up the courage to try all the steps listed there.  Maybe one of you can try and let me know how it goes.
