Maybe a pop-up blocker is preventing it? The JavaScript window.open command is one of the commands that creates a pop-up window (although the code you have calls a function, it is likely that inside the function is a window.open command).

So that must be a security issue then.

Thanks for your help will have to dig deeper in security.

The version of IE6 in Windows XP SP2 does have its own pop-up blocker, but there also is the possibility of a third party product. Plenty of things to check. smile

After a great amount of effort/pain/annoyance with the same sort of problem, I tracked this down to the Ad Blocker in Norton Internet Security 2004, which I get to via the Norton Internet Security window, and clicking on Ad blocking. I didn’t even know I had one here!

There are so many ad blockers/popup window blockers around that it is a major effort eliminating them – when you need to!
