There are not many people reporting the BSOD problems, so it’s safe to assume that this is not a widespread issue.

Mayank has documented many more installation problems than I’m accustomed to seeing.
At the same time, the cries of pain aren’t universal.
People should consider what they gain vs. the potential for problems. As best I can tell, there’s exactly zero reason to install the optional patch, aside from a partial fix to a long-standing Search problem — and that’s only for 1909, which I still don’t recommend.

That link has users posts regarding BSoDs, Sound problems, Remote Desktop problems, HDMI, external display, disabled readyboost drives, TPM Driver and Bitlocker disabled, Bluetooth, locked laptop..and the list of bugs goes on…
