KB4462926 Security Monthly Quality Rollup For Windows 8.1 includes telemetry

Old version of KB2976978 is pre-installed on my Windows 8.1 pro system and cannot be uninstalled, but I do not install the newer versions of it offered by Windows update.

There are 2 telemetry related tasks under

Task Sheduler > Microsoft > Windows > Application Experience

which I kept disabled on my system, but after installing KB4462926 status of those 2 tasks changed to enabled and I had to disable them again.

Also after installing KB4462926, another telemetry related patch KB3150513 appeared as optional update among offered updates.

KB3150513 is only offered if  newer version of KB2976978 (not too old version of it which is pre-installed on my system) is installed, but after installing KB4462926, KB2976978 still remains offered by Windows Update.

Does this mean that KB4462926 includes some different kind of telemetry than KB2976978?

Yes, Microsoft has incorporated the telemetry patches (KB2952664 for Win7 and KB2976978 for Win8.1) into the cumulative updates beginning with the 2018-09 (Sept) Preview Rollups and continuing in the Monthly Rollups starting with October 2018.

Consider using @abbodi86 ‘s method to neutralize the telemetry AKB2000012. It can be done manually or you can create a task to do it automatically. Another option is to join Group B, but you will have to remove what has already been installed (uninstall the Oct Rollup, use a Restore Point, etc).
