    Lyle Epstein shares that he’s had over 100 machines slow down after installing this update.

    Rather than deal with core isolation he did a series of SFC /scannow and inplace upgrade (My two cents — note I think the fix is the inplace upgrade which will reinstall Windows and get it functional).

    Anyone else seeing slowness after the March updates on Windows 11 23H2?  I’m still on 22H2 on the majority of my Win 11’s and haven’t see slowdown.

    “Essentially SFC /SCANNOW reboot, in place upgrade, then SFC /SCANNOW , windows updates.. if the system offers up older updates then resume and it will self correct. I didn’t have to do DISM except for 2 machines. Resolved the slowness issue on over 100 machines and never did I have to do the Core Isolation thing that everyone is talking about is the fix, which when I tried it on several machines it did not fix it at all.”

      That link describes one “affected” PC. Who’s Lyle Epstein?

      I haven’t.

      Always create a fresh drive image before making system changes/Windows updates; you may need to start over!
      We all have our own reasons for doing the things that we do with our systems; we don't need anyone's approval, and we don't all have to do the same things.

      if the system offers up older updates then resume and it will self correct

      This is what I noticed on a “very-fabric-new” HP-Elitebook-650G10 with W11pro-22H2, when I was looking forward what was to be expected to get with new updates. This socalled ‘update’ to W11-23H2 disappeared from being offered by Microsoft, no warning or explanation _just nothing to be found_.
      Later: Microsoft did offer first 5 HP drivers to be renewed, and I installed these. One day later the auto-update check from HP itself did replace these files to the HPversions.
      “SFC /scannow” never gave any fault with this notebook;
      The only very bad thing I noticed was that this W11-Bitlocker slowed down this fast machine for about 40%, so very weard to me and many others on the internet, thus I removed this Bitlocker and do hope that this incomprehenceable slowing down will be replaced with a good version soon.

      What is Redmond driving at?

      I accidentally installed KB5035853 because I used Wushowhide incorrectly. I kept the update, because I did not experience the Blue Screens as some folks did. After a few days of everything working properly, I decided to make a Macrium Image. Last step before doing so was a cleanup via system/Storage in settings. I got rid of lots–can’t remember exactly what. Last step before imaging was to run the DISM tool and SFC. SFC took over three hours. I thought perhaps it was due to deleting some things I shouldn’t have, and SFC thinking it was running for the first time. After completing the task, I started it again. It was again running at an agonizingly slow pace, so I aborted the run and tried a repair over the top. It too was proceeding very slowly, so I did an image restore from February updates. I then started the repair over the top sequence again, which proceeded normally. Control Panel says I have KB5035853 installed, but speed is back to normal.
