With all the depressing virus stuff happening you need to find ways to stay positive. Having a good laugh helps so here are some videos to tickle your funny bone.

From Britain: The Two Ronnies – Swedish Made Simple

From the U.S.: Carol Burnett – No Frills Airline

From Canada: Wayne & Shuster – Shakespearean Baseball and Scruffi & Schmutz

Another part of feeling well is exercise – which you’ll need if you watch too many videos like the above. While it’s not a comedy your family is bound to laugh if you try the dance moves. 🙂

Thanks for that.  The Wayne & Shuster one will not play, it says “Video unavailable”, but if their treatment of Shakespeare is anything like their audio sketch “Rinse the blood off my toga”, which is a sendup of Julius Caesar, it would be hilarious.  Two of my favourite bits from that sketch:

“My name is Mark Anthony.  I just made a speech, I said “Friends, Romans, Countrymen, lend me your ears.”  “Yeah?  Whatcha got in that sack?”  “EARS !!”

“Gimme a martinus”  “You mean martini” “If I want two, I’ll ask for them”

The Wayne and Shuster skit “”Rince the Blood off my Toga”” blew me away with laughing at it way back some 50 years ago…It was so funny to me at the time I have never forgotten it and used the line many times throughout my life since then…I wish someone could re-erect this footage and post it to YouTube..I’ve searched for it and never did find it…Everybody can use a good laugh and they should watch this masterpiece, It’ll change your outlook on life…

Go to http://www.canadianshakespeares.ca/multimedia/video/baseball.cfm. You’ll see a link to the video bottom/left. It’s a .ASX file so I right-clicked on the link, chose Open Link in New Tab (I use Firefox) then used VLC to open it:

      Hope this helps…

Thanks Rick, that worked.  It’s good to get away from the bits and bytes occasionally.

Staying at home is a good thing to do in these weird times but it can get depressing. Recently I rediscovered some videos about magic to make smiles – or at least groans.

When staying at home we have to stock up (but not hoard) on essentials like toilet paper. I hope you don’t have issues like this shopper:

Taking care of our pets can be an issue during lockdowns. With all the extra time you can train them to be a bit safer.

When a Scottish sports announcer is stuck at home…

I gather this guy is a TV sports commentator for rugby and golf, but with no sports being played during the lockdown he’s taken to keeping in shape with his dogs:
