i have a problem with a word documment. I work with heavy images on word documents. I would like to link them with realives paths because I will give the document to a collegue in order to merge it with his work. I have tried everything and I was defeated. I have tried with the typical insert image procedure…but it does not allow me to manage the links easily and relative. I also tried with the field “includeimage” but I was unable to work properly. I mean, with lots of images, and with te capacity to copy -paste or move for one place to anywhere else…the field is tranformed to a llinked images when this is done….etc…
    any good suggestion? thanks i n advance….

I have the same issue, and unfortunately don’t have a direct answer.
The macro on this page http://help.wugnet.com/office/insert-multiple-pictures-word-doc-simultaneously-ftopict1182530.html will create a word document containing all the selected images, and the template here http://www.gmayor.com/photo_gallery_template.html will create a word doc with the selected images and their titles. These provide possible workarounds.

To see how to implement relative paths in Word, check out the solution I’ve posted at:

      Hello Paul,

Can you give me a little help (new link?), please.

      Cheers
      Ralf

Perhaps this is what was meant to be linked?

Unfortunately, when the forum was transferred here from windowssecrets, it seems no-one bothered converting the internal links. I don’t know where the original article might now be found on askwoody. I have replicated the article, at:

Word Fields and Relative Paths to External Files (msofficeforums.com)
