    Hi

In Windows 8, it is possible to run a command whenever the login screen of the last user is displayed in a local computer? This command should always be run with elevated rights and just before this screen appears.

    Thanks

    Bye

In other words, I should change the value of a registry entry via a reg command before the last user login screen appears. In addition, this reg command should be run whenever this event occurs regardless of the type of account and of the cause that produced it.

      Thanks

Have you thought of setting this registry value when a user logs off?

You can run programs before your machine login prompt by adding a value to the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun. This will run the command when the PC starts with elevated privileges.

What do you want to happen? We can suggest commands that will perform the task.

By chance, there is a registry key (or something similar), valid for all user profiles, which allows to run a reg command with elevated privileges that allows to modify the value of the Enabled entry of the HKLMSOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionAuthenticationLogonUIUserSwitch key so that, whenever an any user that logs off the your account, change the value of this entry?

        Thanks

If you want that value fixed I suggest you use local policy to set it, then users can’t change it.

What is it that you want to accomplish?

Always create a fresh drive image before making system changes/Windows updates; you may need to start over!
We all have our own reasons for doing the things that we do with our systems; we don't need anyone's approval, and we don't all have to do the same things.
