Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |

Start->Programs->Control Panel-Add/Remove Program, provides a way to uninstall.
what i meant here was to provide steps when its not listed in Add/remove programs.
removing IIS 5.0 manually removing files and folders & registry entries etc.. what files/registry entries have to be removed etc…?Thanx

AskWoody LoungerJuly 8, 2002 at 6:10 am #599658Are you sure it is not listed?
You need to check the listing after clicking Add/Remove Windows ComponentsOtherwise:

Hi Lief,
Pls refer attached url
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?…b;en-us;Q173431%5B/url%5DI am looking for similar “document/kb/article” for IIS 5.0 as above url.
above url gives infor on removal of SR-1 patch for office 97, though it includes add/remove option it also well explains other things to be removed when uninstalled.
eg., folders/files/registry entries etc.thanx

AskWoody LoungerJuly 8, 2002 at 6:30 am #599664Just because there is an article available for uninstalling a patch for the SR1 patch for Office 97 does not mean there will be one for uninstalling IIS.
Can you confirm that you have no listing for IIS as in my attachment above?
Otherwise, try this article at MS.

AskWoody LoungerJuly 8, 2002 at 6:43 am #599667Hi Lief,
I agree that there may not be an article describing steps similar to one i gave as eg. But my issue was even after uninstallation there will be many thigs left by IIS which causes problems in next installation this happened to us in one machine and even after re-installation it was not corrected so only i asked for such a document.
If there is document from MS or any other about IIS uninstall which gives these steps its ok.As for listing of IIS in Add/remove it is sure appearing there but we have our own doubt that this removes completely IIS 5.0.
Thanx -
