    When I scan a document with multiple columns directly into Word the text is broken up in to individual text boxes, mostly one box per paragraph but sometimes two or three paragraphs in a single box.

    I would like to get all the text out of the boxes and back to the original columnised (or should that be

      In the thread starting at post 481696, selecting the entire document (Ctrl+A) and applying Normal style helped, and pressing Ctrl+Q would probably have helped too. Does that work for you (try it out on a copy of the scanned document)?

        Thanks, Hans. I did a search on “merge text box” so missed this.

        Obviously the rumour of you having 3 brains and ?many? arms is true, allowing to you remember every post! wink bow

        Hi Hans,

        FYI, and anyone else who refers to this thread, this sort of works but a better option is the Crtl+A and change the Style to “Normal” as suggested later in the original thread. In the page I tested we changed the text back to
