A user of mine composed a message with an attachment, sent it to opposing counsel with a bcc: to himself, and the resulting message only contained the first paragraph of the message body. It appears this way both in the copy in his Inbox (from the bcc:) and in his copy in Sent Items. Any idea what may have caused this?

I suppose it might insult his intelligence to suggest that he accidentally deleted it? smile

If it’s an HTML format message, you could examine the message source to see if some errant tag is hiding the text. Otherwise, it’s probably gone forever.

Here’s the really strange part – the recipient received the full message – even though he and the sent items only show the truncated version. . .

Scary. I wonder if the PST (is it a PST?) is becoming corrupted? Maybe run a backup and then the scanpst.exe Inbox Repair tool.

Nope, no psts – we do not allow users to create pst files because we cannot always promise that they will be backed up that way. I know , I know – i didn’t make that decision. . .
