A local (NOT offline) Microsoft Defender [Full scan] found 1 threat.
How and where do I find out what threat it is, and what its filename is?

I haven’t yet tried it (no Defender) but there’s a PowerShell cmdlet that should do this:
1. *Right*-click on Start then choose Windows PowerShell (Admin).
2. When the console opens, enter the following command:
Get-MpThreatDetection

Yes, it did, a lot. 
The Powershell (as administrator) command Get-MpThreatDetection led me straight to the answer and the solution to the threat.
In a folder exclusively for installers, I had a forgotten folder for an nVidia Uninstaller (obviously NOT running, just dormant). See the Powershell screenshot.
If ever the need arises, I can download that uninstaller from nVidia again, so now I had no qualms deleting the offending folder.
Microsoft Defender found no threats any more.
