I have been trying to set up a simple network including a Toshiba laptop running Windows98. When this machine is booted it shows an error message saying there is a missing file msnp32.dll which is preventing the networking function from running. Using System File Checker from System Info, I have installed the file both off a Win98cd and from the cab files already stored on the hard disk. On both occasions the file reportedly installed ok. I also carried out a System File Check and restored a couple of possibly corrupt files. After rebooting however the error message is still displayed and networking is not possible. The Network Neighbourhood is not displayed so is obviously involved somehow.
Anyone have any ideas????
