Mouse wheel scroll in Firefox

Used this setting in about:config to change the scroll speed form 5 to 45.
It seems to have no effect whatsoever.

mousewheel.min_line_scroll_amount

I am using this in a Linux distro based on Ubuntu 18.04. I also tried the
imwheel trick also with no success.

That’s strange. I’ve just changed the mousewheel.min_line_scroll_amount from its default 5 to 100 (so I could see what a major change did), closed and re-opened Firefox (v66.0.5) and it worked absolutely fine (albeit in Linux Mint 19.1 Cinnamon).

I’ll update Firefox to the current v67.0.2 and see what happens.

Looks like I was way behind. After I updated Mint itself (and had an issue with the Ubuntu repository meaning I had to change to another and fix a broken package as a result) I found that Firefox latest is now v77.0.1.

I can change back and forth between settings of 5 and 100 (closing and re-opening between changes) and the effect is quite dramatic.

Perhaps try using 100 (or even more) instead of 45 in case 45 is too mild a change for your setup?

Replying without logging in.  I tried several settings , but 45 was the max I tried.  I will try higher, but you would think going from 5 to 45 would have a noticeable difference.  Thanks for the article link.  I will check it out.
