Running 8.1 and getting the Upgrade to 10 prompts, I thought I would give it a go. System getting on, but still well within spec. After several attempts, that result in an 8007005 error, apparently down to permissions. I tried removing software that hooks into the OS (like a lot of Stardock products), disabling virus checking, various methods of resetting permissions, running dism.exe (as elsewhere in these forums), sfc, etc. All to no avail. So I thought I’ll download using the MCT, but that refuses to even start on my PC. I tried downloading onto my work laptop and MCT ran and the download went through, but the install onto a USB drive (empty 8GB) failed.
Sorry, don’t have all the details to hand, will add as requested (posting from work and the issue is on my home PC).
Looks like I’m stuck with Win 8.1 unless anyone has any great ideas.
    Help!
