Hi, I’m using Win10 1809. After updating wifi driver, my connection keeps dropping all the time, especially on a moving bus. I’m using a Samsung J5 as a hotspot.
I’m from Finland, usually driving on main roads, so that shouldn’t cause any problem. What to do?

Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |

AskWoody LoungerJanuary 17, 2019 at 9:54 am #312776I’d guess there were some rather significant changes to the driver structure again in 1809, from some of the problems I’ve seen… usually with people who Checked For Updates (and usually the quick fix involves rolling back to previous version)… so I’d hope there’d be a fresh driver package from the manufacturer or something.
It’s just, at least HP’s user-friendly tool (HP Support Assistant) just fails to find the updated driver in some of these cases even when there’s one available from support.hp.com …

GuestJanuary 19, 2019 at 4:41 pm #314007Have you noticed if a few fellow passengers also use their commute time for cyber productivity? You may find a source of more information among those close to you that are making use of the same infrastructures. Look for frustrated faces.
Personal interactions are frowned on in my own urban mass transit. Your locale may be more friendly. After you have updated and tested your own devices, this could be worth trying.
