      Welcome to the Lounge!

I tend to use only a single font in workbooks; I currently have 8-point Tahoma set as default font in Excel 2002/2003. For emphasis, I make the font bold, and for titles, I use a larger font size such as 10 or 12 points.

If I used Excel 2007, I might use Calibri as default font, probably in 10 point size.

I tend to stick with Verdana. I find it’s easier to read on screen, and prints fairly well.

      Thanks for the suggestions.

How do you change the default font on Excel 2007?

Do you use the same font for words and numbers?

To change the default font on Excel 2007:
        – Click the big Office button.
        – Click Excel Options.
        – Click Popular in the navigation pane on the left hand side.
        – You can select a font and font size in the section labeled “When creating new workbooks”.

I use the same font for text and for numbers. In all fonts, the digits 0, 1, …, 9 have the same width so that numbers align correctly.
