Thanks for providing this info, Alex.

This looks extremely interesting and appears to be a Swiss Army knife piece of software for disk management tasks. (And it’s portable too!)

I would appreciate it if you or anyone else here who has used this software would be willing to share their experiences (both good and bad) with it.

Sorry but I don’t have a test machine to evaluate the app.
The screen shot is from running the app on my laptop (21H2).

I will keep the app (portable) in case of need (in addition to MiniTool partition wizard and EASEUS Partition Master).

* Disk 0 (drive D) in the screen shot is a WD 1TB HDD, not SSD.

Do you know of any particular reason why the software would misidentify the type of drive?

Sorry, still comes up with 3.0.

I tried twice, once overwriting the existing files and once where I cleared the directory first. Ain’t gettin’ no love!

UPDATE:

Alex, I beg a thousand pardons! Dummy me forgot that I had the installed version still installed and my shortcut was calling that and not the portable version.

MY BAD!

I’m quite happy with my favorite utilities so don’t need this, but thought I’d take a look at NIUBI to see how it compares.

While the installable version does indeed install on 32-bit or 64-bit systems (as tested in some VMs), the portable version only runs on 64-bit systems. It will not run on 32-bit systems, which some people may still have laying around.

The free version will not create bootable rescue media. The menu link to “Create Bootable Media” directs you back to NIUBI’s webpage to upgrade to a paid-for version.

I tried Niubi but found it lacked options that are available through Minitool Partition Wizard free or Macrorit Disk Partition free (which has no adverts built in).  I also have tried Hasleo’s disk clone and IM Partition Resizer and both work well.

Ok,

Yesterday I downloaded it twice. Once from your link and once directly from their site.
In both cases it still came up as 9.7.7.

So today I re-downloaded it from your original link and the new link you posted with the same results.

In all cases I deleted the directory where the files were extracted to and then extracted them again from the download.

Any clue why I keep getting 9.7.7?

Just download to test (from second link) and got 9.8.0

Maybe something to do with browser cache ?

Here’s what I’ve tried.

On main driver:

1. Remove all vestages of Installed Version.
2. Remove the Portable version directory.
3. Removed all *Uiubi* references from the Registry.
4. Rebooted.
5. Download the Portable version directly from the Official Site.
6. UnZip the files.
7. Right click and run as admin.

Still got version 9.7.7.

On my canary machine:

1. Removed the Portable version directory.
2. Download the Portable version directly from Official Site.
3. UnZip the files.
4. Right click and run as admin.

Still got version 9.7.7

I’m at a total loss!

Just to let you know the I’ve finally gotten 7.8.0 free up and running.

It required getting support from the company and I can’t say enough about the level of support they provided to a non-paying customer. I just wish I could get this level of support from companies I’ve given money to!

I tried to down load on three different machines and three different machines after clearing everything and even running disk cleanup clearing everything.

It’s October machines must have been Haunted!
