King Charles is right in the middle of the coronation!

It did allow me to carry on.

My box reboots every day at 05:45. Not likely to be watching too much then. Not sure what happens if I’m watching at that time.

      cheers, Paul

      Speaking of Comcast . . .

How well does their current DVR service work?

I’m still using their old Motorola RNG200N TV box-DVR, with external HDD attached for more storage. I use this DVR a LOT.

I set it up yesterday to start recording the coronation at 2:00 am this morning. It’s recording now and should wrap up at noon.

I have about 70 – 80 movies from TCM saved there and I record (and then delete) many hours of shows each week.

Can Comcast’s current DVR service still do all of this? I’ve heard it’s not as robust as the DVR I have now.

(Please let me know if I should post this to a different forum . . .)

I have the cloud dvr and it works well.  It does require a subscription though.

      How unbelievably ridiculous and frustrating.

My Spectrum (Charter Cable Communications) TV box takes a minimum of 35 minutes to reboot and always has, regardless if it is a power failure or unplugged and plugged back in, or whether it’s done by the remote control command or by Spectrum, themselves. It’s an Explorer 4250HDC by Scientific Atlanta, which I have had for about twenty years, now. Spectrum says that’s normal and “that’s just how long it takes to reconstruct the carousel,” whatever that means. I would have disconnected it and thrown it through the closed living room window if it had started rebooting while I was recording the coronation this morning (and watching it at the same time). Obviously I don’t reboot it more than a few times a year at 30-to-40 minutes to reboot.

Rabbit ears [or UHF yagis] never need to reboot or update…
