For some strange reason, all my DB objects disappeared from the window. Nothing I can do makes them show up again. Does anyone know what causes this?

    Thanks,
    Mark

      Hi Mark

      Have you tried:

Tools | Options | View and select Hidden Objects

      Apply | OK

        Thanks Jerry,
I tried that and I still cannot see anything in the DB window. I know it is the file that has the problem as I can open another and it works.

        Thanks,
        Mark

          Hi Mark

Doesn’t sound good. How about trying to import all the objects into a nice clean crisp Access shell…..could that be an answer. Alternatively ( no guarantee)…close the database down and whilst holding the shift key down open it again…this bypasses any run time macros etc…worth a try.

            Hi Jerry,
I can open the DB and it works normally. If I use the shift-double click to open in design mode, I get nothing in the window.

            Thanks,
            Mark

              OK

Try my other option, open up a fresh access database with nothing in it and try to import objects into it, you can sometimes see the objects through this method.

Have you tried a compact and repair on it shrug

Another strange thing is that the vertical scroll bar appears but I can’t make it scroll up, it always remains at the bottom.

            Thanks,

You could try Ctrl+Home or if that doesn’t help, Ctrl+End.

Alternatively to Has’ suggestion, rioght hand mouse click on the scroll bar you see and select “Left Edge”

      Try switching to Details view.
      If that doesn’t help:
      – Select Tools | Options…
      – Activate the View tab.
      – Tick the check box ‘Hidden objects’.
      – Click OK.
      Does that help?

        Hi Hans,
Also no luck with that. This is the first time I have ever had a problem like this…

        Thanks,
        Mark

I’d try Jerry’s suggestion of importing all database objects into a blank new database. You’ll have to set the startup options again (if any), and non-standard references in the Visual Basic Editor (if any).
