    Hi all. I’m not absolutely sure that this problem coincided with the last update, but it’s awfully close, so I suspect they may be related.

    In Windows apps only, (Start menu, File Explorer, et al.), the mouse wheel doesn’t scroll until I “click” on the scroll bar. Then it scrolls fine. I don’t have to move the scroll bar. Just click on it. The problem is in no other apps, such as any of my browsers, PDF viewers, or anything else. Only the Windows apps.

    I’m running Win 11 Home, 23H2, build 22631.3593.

    Thanks all;

    Artie

      Hi Artie,

      Like you, I use Win 11 Home, 23H2, build 22631.3593.

      I have had the issue you raise (mouse wheel doesn’t scroll until you first click on the scross bar) only on the All Apps page of the start menu. I’m pretty sure it’s been that way long before the latest Windows update.

      But I do not seem to have that problem in other Windows apps like File Explorer or Settings. File Explorer has two side-by-side windows. The mouse wheel scrolls only the one with “focus”.

      Have you checked a few of the Settings windows that are longer than a screen-full? For example, System or Privacy & Security or Apps>Installed Apps? Does you mouse wheel scroll those Windows apps?

      You’re right. In fact, as I examine it closely, I think it’s only the start menu. I click the start menu>All Apps. That’s where it won’t scroll, ’til I click the scroll bar.

      I can live with this, but it seems odd that it happened. Whenever.

      Same thing happened to me but only on the start menu of my PC running Windows 10 Pro. Strange and a nuisance.

      Wheehoo! Thanks b. That did it. I came in here to post that I also discovered that the mouse scroll didn’t work at all while in File Explorer “Details” mode. Even if I clicked on the scroll bar. That switch fixed that too.

      Thank you SO much.
