• Offline Address Book not synchronizing

When working on a laptop, I was attempting to download the Address book in Outlook 2000 for offline use. It says in the lower right corner that it is synchronizing, but it goes by way too fast, and when you work offline and go to the Offline address book, absolutely nothing is in the address book. If you look at the offline settings and click on the settings button next to Download Address book, there is an option at the bottom of the dialog box to choose which address book and normally it should say Global Address List by default. But on this laptop nothing appears there and if you look at the drop down list it is blank.

We already tried an uninstall, reinstall of Outlook but it is still doing it. Has anyone else seen anything like this? Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for any help on this.

      Hello
This may or may not help.
Have you tried downloading the book using Tools|Synchronise|Download Address Book instead of using the offline folder settings route? This should force a book to be downloaded.
Make sure the “Download changes….” check box is cleared and set the “Full details” radio button.
      Good luck

Yes, we did try using the Tools/Synchronize/Download Address book feature. The fact that it doesn’t even list an address book in the settings that’s throwing me off.

I am having a similar problem when trying to synchronize offline address book. Another, smaller (6 names) address book has become(?) the book to which I synchronize and, no matter what I do or route I take, I cannot get the Global Address book as the one to which I synchronize. I have tried deleting the offline folders and starting again, all to no avail. Any ideas?
