• Offline files synchronization schedule

I am just getting used to my new Vista laptop, and I cannot get it to synchronize offline files every night.

My laptop is set to go into standby when unused for 20 minutes, and this seems to prevent the synchronization. I have tried clearing the checkbox shown here.

but every time I return to the dialog box I find that checkbox is ticked again.

    Any suggestions?

Does your account have the rights to change the settings?

I assume so. I can change all the other settings in this dialog box, and I am in the administrators group.

A google search led me to this dialog box, which you can display by clicking the start button, then typing offline followed by Enter.

I did have some problems when originally encrypting my offline files, so I will try to sort this out and then try the synchronization schedule again.

If this were to happen to me, I would Task Schedule something a minute or two before the intended offline synchronisation task, to get the laptop out of standby or hibernate. But as you say, it shouldn’t be necessary…

Plethora means a lot to me.
