open excelXP in 2007 print drawing objects

The following issue was raised:

Finance have excel files that contain drawing objects.

The file was created in Excel XP.

When the file opens in Excel XP – view on screen ok & prints ok

When the same file opens in Excel2007, views on screen ok. on print the drawing objects move.

Is this due to compatiablity?

Do you know why the drawings jump around on print?

I had a look to see if a theres a related excel compatibility in XP or 2007 but couldnt find one

I tested printing the file on Excel 2007. No movement.
I checked, the drawing objects – they are set to move and size with the cells (which is what I would have recommended).
So, I’m thinking that different print drivers are the problem. I assume that different machines are involved here?

I too successfully printed with no movement of the drawing objects. I used a Brother Color Laser printer and achieved the output expected.

Because both Catharine and I did not experience the problem that you are seeing, I would suspect your printer driver’s interaction with Excel is the problem. See if your printer has a new driver available, or re-install your current driver to see if you can find a resolution.

thankyou yes your both right.

Were in the process of upgrading to Office 2007 so initially I thought it was compatiability issues between excel XP & 2007.

We have two printer vendors on the floors.

Ive tested by printing to both different printers and get different results.

On the canon printers the drawing objects move.
Tested by printing to a lexmakr printer – and prints correctly.
