    Folks

I’m having a problem with Outlook 2003 not remembering my credentials from one session to the other.

My computer is NOT part of a domain and I have to connect to my Exchange server with a full “domain / user / password” combination.

Now the interesting part is that my setup was working just fine until last week, when our IT migrated from Exchange 2000 to 2003. Since then every time I launch Outlook 2003 it asks me for a password to connect to the Exchange server regardless if I select the “remember password” check box or not.

Let me emphasize that the very same machine / Outlook 2003 SP1 / etc was working just fine with Exchange 2000.

I have tried the various options under the ‘Logon Network Security’ (kerberos/NTLM Password Authentication, Kerberos Password Authentication, and NTLM Password Authentication) to no avail.

I can force Outlook to always prompt for a password, but when I disable that option it still will not remember the password.

I have tried to re-create my profile from scratch.

I have also tried the following http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?…l2002#appliesto

My suspicion is that Exchange 2003 and / or AD2003 has some new group policy that prevents non domain authenticated clients from saving their user / password. Is there such a setting (have not found it browsing through the Exchange documentation, but I might very well have missed it) and if so is there a client side method to find out it’s value ?

Are those properties available to the VBA object model (i.e. is there a way to script the connection) ?

Anything else I might have missed ?

    Any suggestion welcome

    Thanks

    Alex

Have you checked with the IT department?
They may have changed the settings so NO ONE can save passwords. Most companies now require (and have always) that this feature MUST be turned off.
