    I have run w98+ Office 2000 including Outlook 2k for some time. It was not the most stable of setups but it did work. I also synchronised my Jornada with it.

    I have just upgraded to XPHome, and chose to do a new installation, and then rebuilt all the applications. All works fine except outlook. This refuses to start and gives an error message along the lines of

      Sounds like your XP log on may not have rights to update the registry. You need to be a local admin to assure this works. Office and Outlook2K seem to be especially susceptable to this kind of problem.

      Log on as the system administrator, then add your log on to the admin group. Log on as yourself then try running regsvr or the detect and repair process.
