Is there anyway to force Outlook2000’s Contact find function, to search for the Company Name Field…it seems only to search the First name and Last name fields.

I’m using the Tool Bar Search element.

I’m aware that I can tell Outlook to save a contact name in a format with a company name, but the Company name still does not become searchable…anyway I’d prefer to have the Company field searchable in its own right.

    Any Clues?

    Thanks, Mike Biber

you’ll need to use advanced find for that. create a find using company, save it on the hard drive then move it to an outlook folder or hyperlink a button to it.

        Thanks Mary,
I guess by implication, there’s no way to ammend the ‘Find a Contact’ search fields. Your suggestion to use the ‘Find’ function works well however I was just looking to save a few mouse clicks. I suppose this was designed this way to speed up a simple name search directly from the Contacts toolbar.

…again, thanks for the speedy response.

i think you’ll find you use the same number of mouse clicks using a saved find. add it to your outlook bar or as a hyperlink to a button (Ol2000 only) and it’s the same 1 click away.
