Pivot – calculate diff (2003 SR2)

We have a pivot table (screen shot attached), and we want to calculate the difference between Period A and B. How can we have the pivot table do this calculation?

Click in the pivot table.
Select Pivot Table | Wizard… from the Pivot table toolbar.
Click Layout…
Add the same field to the Data area that is already there.
Double click the new field.
Click Options >>
Select “Difference from” in the dropdown list.
Select Region in the list of base fields.
Select (previous) in the list of base items.
Click OK etc.

Never mind.. I am rescinding this post. In talking with the user, it appears we cannot format the data correctly to do the calculation in the pivot table. Thanks anyway for your time!
