I have a pivot table that compares budgeted sales to actual sales. In this pivot table I have a “product class” field in the “PAGE” function, and I have a “product name” field in the “ROW” function.
For example, “Milk Products” is in the “PAGE” function, and “Cheese”, “Yogurt”, and “Ice Cream” would show up in the “ROW”.
My problem stems from inserting a calculated item for the “Source” field (source being “actual” and “budget”) in order to calculate the variance.
When I use the “PAGE” function to select “Milk Products”, it doesn’t filter properly. For example, all product names, under all product classes show up on the report, however those product classes and product names that do not fall under the “Milk Products” category show up with a zero value. In other words, the words show up, but the numbers don’t, so technically the numbers are right, but I don’t want to see all the extra words.
