So, how can I prevent a program or icon from starting up or appearing automatically when I start my computer? I accidentally started Works, and now there is a Works toolbar that comes up whenever I start my computer. In Win98, I can go into the System Configuration Utility and delete from startup whatever I want. What’s the Win2K version of that process?
    Thanks,
    Charlie

Unfortunately WIndows 2000 does not ship with a nice tool to configure startup items. You can, however, download many such utilities. I prefer CodeStuff’s Starter for managing startup items. It’s a nice, well rounded utility that’s worth investigating.

Wow! I just downloaded CodeStuff’s Starter and ran it, and it worked great! What a terrific piece of info!
        Thanks very much,
