I have been sent a spreadsheet from a ’97 user. it prints perfectly when I allow it to go across two pages.

When I try to restrict it to print on 1 page wide it prints each cell on a separate page. If I go into page brak preview each cell is surrounded in blue. If I try to drag the blue lines to increase page size it tells me my margins sizes are the problem. If I return to page set up it wont let me select the magins tab.

If I go to the margins tab before I set a 1 page wide instruction they are perfectly standard settings!

The spreadsheet has hidden columns and a group. I have tried removing these to no avail. I have tried cutting and pasting data to a new workbook but ths does not get rid of the problem.

Unfortunately the data is sensitive so I cannot post the workbook for anyone to look at – I just wondered if anyone else has experienced anything similar – or anyone has any bright ideas!

    Thanks

Have had a similar sounding problem on more than one ocassion. The fix – crazy as it sounds – was to

      1. Select another printer (hopefully this is possible for you)
      2. Print a single page to this second printer (in one case I actually only had to view it in PrintPreview)
      3. Select the original printer…

…and what do you know the problem has disappeared. Never have figured out why this works, but it does.

I’ve had this happen to me too and it just drove me crazy until I figured out how to fix it.

Another way (which is similar to the above fix) is to remove your printer and then re-install it.

Yes, it’s a crazy way to fix it, but it works every time.
