@Woody: I’ve tried 3 times to reply to a message Noel wrote, and I finally “give up”. It just won’t do it, and there is “no way to delete the message”. Even having a method to delete the message would have solved the problem. Anything pending which would allow a “reply” to be deleted? As always, thank you for all of the great work you do. I don’t know what we would do without you!

ManagerMarch 27, 2017 at 9:58 am #104682You should always be able to delete a reply – but if you have a problem, email me with the reply number (upper right corner) and I’ll manually delete it.

“Reply to post #104679” for example. Also, there is a button that says “TRASH.” If you click on that it will remove the message. (Be careful not to click on “SP*M )
EDIT: Oops! TRASH ans SP*M are only available to MVPs. Sorry

Loungers get the option to Trash their own posts, but their edit time is limited. My screenshot didn’t show that, as I hadn’t created the post I copied
Likewise, Loungers can only Thank and Vote on others’ posts, not their own (I know that has caused confusion among some, when seeing screenshots).

ManagerMarch 27, 2017 at 12:49 pm #104723I have noticed some users/guests deliberately quoting without replying, where a thread has become quite narrow (after several replies to replies), if the post is going to be more than a line or two. This makes a full width post, which is easier to read, but does disrupt from the prior discussion.

Here’s what I’ve just verified for my case. If I use Edge, clicking on reply makes it impossible to enter text in the Visual mode and anything typed in the Text mode vanishes when I switch back to the Visual mode. After that I can’t switch back to the Text for a second time. In Firefox there are no such problems. Firefox has NoScript 5.0.2 as its only add-on with this site allowed whereas Edge has no add-ons at all. Normally I use Edge for sites that I have to sign into and Firefox for everything else.
Note: I first clicked REPLY, then QUOTE for this posting.

ManagerApril 3, 2017 at 4:05 am #106287Please note that when clicking Reply on the first topic post, you are creating a new post (the last part of the link shows “#new-post”), and do not get nested immediately under the first topic post. They appear in order, at the bottom of the thread.
Replies to replies are nested, which I believe you were expecting from replies to the first topic post.
This is the way that BBPress works, not a fault.1 user thanked author for this post.
