A significant fraction of the hacks in the above link take advantage of integer overflows and out of bounds situations. Wouldn’t (or shouldn’t) this indicate to even a casual programmer or programmer manager that these situations demand extra attention on their part?
I’m not a programmer, but I do remember being almost literally beaten over the head by the instructor of the one college level programming course I took, that it is the programmer’s responsibility to thoroughly identify and investigate potential overflow and out of bounds situations and ensure they didn’t occur or were dealt with properly.
