I have an existing query that the design grid is missing. When I open the query in design mode, I can see the tables and their relationships, but I cannot see (or get to) the design grid to view fields used and calculations used.

Any suggestions on how to retrieve the design grid?

    Thanks

The line that divides the design grid from the upper part (with the tables) can be dragged up and down. Can you see this line if you maximize the query? If so, drag it upwards to just below the tables. If not, try the following:
      – Select View | SQL.
      – Copy the SQL text to the clipboard (Ctrl+C)
      – Create a new query in design view, don’t add any tables.
      – Select View | SQL.
      – Delete the text (SELECT;), then paste (Ctrl+V).
      – Switch to design view.
      – You should now see the design grid (you may have to make the window larger).
If it works, rename the old query, then save the new one with the original name.

When maximized the movable line was not available.

I did try all the other steps listed, and I am now able to view the design grid.

Thank you very much for the quick response.
