How can I get rid of “quick print” from the Win10 file manager context menu.

Any idea what specific registry key attends to this?

I’ve tried a number of the various ‘context menu’ managers  (nirsoft, etc etc) and it doesn’t seem to show up as an item.  Odd.

    Thanks Richard

There is no “Quick Print” item in my context menu (Windows 10 Pro 21H2) so it may have been added by some 3rd party S/W you installed.

If you mean the “Print” context menu item, here’s a link on how to disable that.

Remove Print Context Menu in Windows 10

Note: removing it involves changing multiple entries in the registry which is why most context menu managers can’t disable it.

Thanks.   I have tried a variety of context menu editors as I said and they don’t mention it.

In fact I believe Alejr is indeed correct and it is associated with a 3rd party program – in specific with QuickViewPlus  which I have been using for some time.   I use v13 – a bit old but perfectly functional (the newer versions have gone to a subscription model which is too dear for me).  (If I recall correctly Quickview was bundled with Windows some versions ago).

I think it is integrated with the QuickViewPlus context menu as an ‘integrated component’ – I can’t find anywhere (including the registry) to make it an option.  I suspect it is baked into the program somewhere and if I want QVP in the context menu I’ll have to accept all (which includes a “quick compress” option as well.

As I use QVP to view documents without opening them – instantly and more secure than actually opening the associated application – I guess I am stuck with it.  Messy!

      Thanks   Richard

Here’s how to turn off the “Quick Print” context menu for QVP 13

Open Quick View Plus, select the View menu item, then  Configure Quick View Plus… at the bottom of the drop down list.

        QVP Main Menu

On the Configure QVP window’s Applications tab, “selectWindows Explorer and then click the Properties Button.

        Configure QVP

On the Windows Explorer Options tab, “uncheck” the Enable “Quick Print” menu item.

        Windows Explorer Optionss

That should remove Quick Print from your context menus.

      Ah ha!

Never thought of that.   I was thinking of the Windows Explorer option as Internet Explorer – but even though I might not have thought of that.

      Thank you very much!

I guess this is ‘mis-placed’ – it should have been in the forum Other Software!

      Thanks again.  Solved!

      Glad to help.

I know exactly how annoying it can be to have unwanted items in the Windows context menus, especially when not all 3rd party programs that add them give you an option to turn them off.

In fact, I have a special reg file (RemoveUnwantedContextMenuItems) I created way back when Win XP was still new that runs every time Windows starts up to remove the items I don’t want and don’t need.

I regularly update it as I find new items added by such programs as Acrobat, video players, image editors, Windows itself and various other utilities I use that can’t be “easily” disabled by other means (i.e. in the program itself or by using one of the many context menu editors.)

Currently it changes 786 different entries in the registry to keep my context menu nice and clean.
