Re-enabling password autocomplet

I would like to re-enable password autocompletion in IE 5.01, but the box for the setting is greyed out (perhaps because someone using the computer told IE not to show the choice to fill in passwords automatically anymore). How do I “ungrey” the setting so I can reenable it?

Do you mean that if you go to Tools–>Internet Options–>Content in IE, the AutoComplete button is not enabled? Or do you mean that if you click the AutoComplete button, the “prompt me” choice is greyed out? If it’s the latter, it only becomes available if you check the “user names and passwords on forms” option.

After I click the autocomplete button, the “user names and passwords on forms” option AND the “prompt me” choice are both greyed out. The Auto Complete button is enabled on the Tools–>Internet Options–>Content menu, as are the “web addresses’ and “forms” choices. Its just the “usernames..” button and “prompt me” choice that are greyed.
