Hi,
I began to receive error messages about the lack of space in my C: drive and discovered that space reduced from 8 gigas to almost nothing in more or less two days, and didn’t discovered which is the file growing and growing… and when trying to measure the space of the folders from the properties sheet nothing seems to occupy such space.
Any answer, orientation, idea?
Thanks

AskWoody LoungerDecember 8, 2001 at 12:29 pm #556929it could be the system restore files, especially if you are installing a lot of new software – it also could be the hibernate file, if that is enabled (it was by default on my systems that support hibernation).
also check the temp folders and the temp internet folders. you may need to enable “show hidden files and folders” on tools | options | view tab

AskWoody LoungerDecember 10, 2001 at 8:50 pm #557343It’s difficult to help you until you determine which files are causing the problem. Once again, in Windows Explorer from Tools menu click Folder Options, then View tab, and under “Hidden Files and Folders” check “Show hidden files and folders” and UNCHECK “Hide file extensions…” and “Hide protected operating system files” Windows will scream, but uncheck it anyway.
Then check your folders. The biggest folders are WINDOWS (something around 1 GB) and PROGRAM FILES (depending what you install, from 100 MB to 4 GB or more). Check also root of your drive for gigantic files (500 MB or more). Which of your suspicious files have recent date?
