I did read the 10 post recent thread, as well as the 81 post thread it suggested to post on,
but it was ‘Locked’ as well.
What caught my eye was:

Fine-tune your Registry for faster startups
These Registry mods will kick-start your workday…
I do like CCleaner as he and many others mentioned in those ‘Locked’ threads.
What was not seen in those 91 posts was the fact that after using a Registry Cleaner,
you will no longer be able to (MS) update your Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.
Unfortunately for me, by the time that the first .NET update failed,
I would have had to restore to a Registry that had been saved over one year in the past.
(You can imagine what that would do to a year’s worth of installs and program updates.)
Only way (for me) to stop constant ‘update on every shutdown’ was to ‘Hide’ all .NET type updates.
I don’t know how much I am risking by ‘running-naked’ on my Microsoft .NET without updates or Service Packs.
My systems are protected by the AntiVir Premium Suite and Firewall configured for “High” Security.
(“Connections from outside are blocked”.)
I have used RegEdit when advised by a MS KB solution, but not confident that I could fix this fault.
I did learn the hard way about Registry with a ‘Re-Install Windows 95’ and have never had to ‘Re-Install…’ again.
I apologise for bringing up such a ‘tired subject’ as Registry ‘tuners’, but this fact needed to be mentioned.
