I have inherited a large spreasheet in which the row height AutoFit doesn’t seem to be working properly. The rows don’t expand enough to fit in all the text – sometimes they seem to cut off just half a line of text and sometimes several lines of text. I don’t want to have to resort to manually adjusting the row height, as the column width is likely to vary which would have a knock-on effect on the row-height needed.

Any ideas on what I can do to fix this, please?

    Thanks

    Ann

I’m afraid that Excel’s text handling leaves a lot to be desired. Text wrap and autofit are far from perfect, and the printed result may differ considerably from what is displayed on screen. If correct formatting of text is really important, perhaps Word is more suitable (but Word isn’t very good at performing calculations…)

If you have merged cells check out post 270923 for some workarounds

Also row height is limited to 409. Is this the problem

And also a “bug/feature” is Only 1,024 characters are displayed in a cell in Excel

If it something else could you elaobrate on your setup and when the problem occurs.
