We have folks who save files as HTML from excel. However, Excel kindly rewrites the links. If I type ../mypath/myfile.html, Excel converts it to a fully qualified path, i.e. http://myserver/mypath/myfile.html. What is even worse, not all of our folders are shared with thier folder name. Excel insists on using the share name and not the folder name in the link.

    Any ideas? Thanks.

With the workbook open, select File | Properties.
Set the Hyperlink Base property to the folder you want to use as ‘root’. All new hyperlinks you add after that will be relative to this root (if possible, of course), and this will hold over in the conversion to HTML.

Thanks again! I used to be good on Excel, until I started learning it. Now I realize how much more there is to learn. 😉

You can use BBCodes to format your content.
Your account can't use all available BBCodes, they will be stripped before saving.
