Can anyone give me an example of why I would want do this?
I have to think up a scenario for a training session – I often import export from excel, but the database facility just looks totally confusing to me!
Many thanks

Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |

You would save project as a database when you want to be able to export project data to other applications. This used to be the same as saving project as a .mpx file. The old .mpx file was compatible (somewhat) with other scheduling apps such as primavera.
As you can’t access the MS Project tables directly via, say ODBC (at least I can’t), you would save the project file as a database so you could access the table structure / data via Access, Excel, or other apps.
