I thought I should start a new thread on this since the other thread has a subject with a downlevel version number and goes back to July.

Those who use the Shadow Protect imaging software won’t need this link, but for others: Backup Software | StorageCraft. Following the link in Support & Downloads will lead to the page for downloading the 3.5.1 update.

However, I have a question for Bob Archell (I’ll wager he reads this thread!) of whether he knows if it’s safe yet to use the above download? I just paid a visit to their forum and in two threads I’m left with a bit of uncertainty whether the “activation problem” has been fixed. Here’s the two threads:
Version 3.5.1 and Activation Problem – StorageCraft Support Center

Desktop version 3.5.1 – StorageCraft Support Center
Edited to add an explanation: Bob pointed out a corruption problem in [post=’811059′]his post here[/post]

Ok Al, you won your wager! It is now save to download the update as the fix is in.

To repeat information from earlier postings, here are the two urls to get 1] get the 3.5.1 update and 2] the ISO file.

Albeit I have provided both urls, bear in mind that the ISO link still has the 3.5 version and not the 3.5.1. There appears to be two SC camps. Nate saying the ISO update will be provided soon while another SC employee is saying it is not required. I challenged the 2nd employee and have yet to receive what I would say is a definitive answer.

I would advise anyone wanting updates to use the above links. Downloading from those links does not impact your available downloads like happens when one logs into My Account and uses those links.

As always Bob, you’re “Johnny On The Spot!” Thanks for the links. I think I’ll install the 3.5.1 and wait for a bit on the ISO, just in case…

I just downloaded and installed the 3.5.1 at your link and all is well, Bob! I don’t have any “activation” errors or problems and SP looked at my pending incremental job OK.

Will wait awhile on the ISO…

      Thanks again!

Glad it worked for you. I’ll let you know when I hear something positive about the ISO file.

Just for the heck of it I mounted the backup from overnight (C: drive) and examined a number of files. All that I chose are OK so I’ll assume there is no corruption. I didn’t try to copy or restore any files.

        OK, Al,

The 3.5.1 ISO file is ready for download. Go to the previously recorded link and enter your serial number to download the Download Manager. Execute the DLM and the ISO zipped file (~319mb) will dl. Remember, DO NOT go to your accounts page as downloading from there will affect your count and there is no guarantee that the 3.5.1 file is there.

Thanks, Bob – I have now got the 3.5.1 ISO file via your link.

I think I will probably say something more about the bizarre download mechanism, now that I am on a roll with comments on the stupidity of the ISO download system…

      BATcher

Plethora means a lot to me.

They sure don’t make it easy.
