When I open an Excel file I notice that my sub-directories and files are listed in a desending order as opposed to ascending. Is there a setting to switch back to ascending order?

    Thanks,
    John

In the file open dialog, clcik on the “Name” to sort in ascending. Open a file. the setting should be remembered.

In Excel 2003, on Open, when we sort the filenames by date modified with the most recent file on top, it puts all the subdirectory folders at the end of the list.

Is there a way to keep the folders at the top of the list, and still sort the filenames with most recent first?

      Thanks,
      Patty
