Okay. I consider myself somewhat a PP expert and this has me baffled! I thought I remembered being able to attach a sound to an object and have it play anytime (at random) by clicking on it. However today, I cannot remember/figure out how to do this!

I’ve tried linking the sound through hyperlink, but it tries to OPEN the file, not play it.
I’ve tried animation, but you must animate the object to get the sound.
I’ve tried placing a duplicate of the object over itself and animating that, but then I only get one use of the sound file and it must happen in order, not at random.
I’ve tried inserted asound object on the screen, but I don’t want to have to point at that object. TOO OBVIOUS!
I’ve tried grouping my object with the inserted sound object, but it won’t play when grouped.

Am I wishful remembering here? or can this be done?

    Thanks all!

If you select “Movies and Sounds” from the Insert Menu it offers a choice of “Sound from Gallery” or “Sound from File”. When you have selected the sound file a dialogue box like this appears. If you select No then it behaves as you describe.

Thanks for the reply fellow bearded chin member!

Actually my issue is that I have an JPG on the screen. When I click THAT object, I want the sound to play no matter how many times I click or when in the sequence on the slide.

What you describe acts pretty much like the insert sound from the insert menu.

Yes, that was the Insert Sound menu, I didn’t realise that you needed the sound associated with a jpg image.

Have you tried right clicking the picture, choosing “Action Settings” and associating your sound with the picture from there?

Yeah! Dat did it! I knew I had done that in the past, but it’d been too long since I’d needed to do it that way.

            Thank you, Thank you!!
