Can you give me an example of using the Spinner command from the Forms section? I can’t find it in any of the books, nor in much useful information in Help.

      Hi Bob,

Tell me what you have in mind for the spinner.

I have no idea what Spinner does. I played with the button, but I can’t get it to do anything. What does Spinner do? How would I use Spinner?

          Hi Bob,

Spinner is a control with two buttons, an Up button and a Down button.

Click on the Spinner on the Forms toolbar, then click on the Excel sheet and drag it to the size you want.
While the ‘handles’ are still showing, right-click on it and select Format Control. This allows you to set the upper and lower limits of the counter, the value by which each click of a button increases or decreases the return value.

And, you can select the cell where the result (return value) will be dumped.

One way you could use it is to select a month (1-12) and then use the return value as a parameter for a cell formula. See attached file.

Not entirely sure why my jpg didn’t attach, but I think hans already provided you with an example.

A spinner is an up-down control where you can control the range and the increment. See attached example. Can you get it to fail? I can, and can’t easily fix it. Spinners are a pain to program. HTH –Sam

I now have enough information to play around with it to see how it works. I thank all of you for your help.

Bob, rereading your posts, I notice that you said “Spinner command from the Forms section.” You may want to use the Controls toolbar instead of the Forms toolbar. You will have more options then. –Sam

      Bob,

I don’t know if you mean the spinbutton on a userform or on a spreadsheet. I am not using XP (but XL2000). In the attached spreadsheet you should go to the VBA section to see a Userform with 2 spinbuttons. Each of the spinbuttons has next to it a textbox. One spinbutton can be used to increase or decrease a number in the textbox next to it (from 1 to 99), the other spinbutton can be used to go from A to ZZ, by clicking the arrows of the spinbutton.
